Can you give a little background about yourself?
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I've always had a huge love for the arts, so naturally I've ended up in a very creative career; and I'm so fortunate for that because I love what I do! My hobbies include cooking, photography, and anything active or outdoors. Lastly, the most important thing in the world to me is my family- my husband, Robert, and our two beautiful German Shepherds, Mischa and Storm.

Can you give our readers an overview of your Modern Luxe Creative and tell us how it started?
Modern Luxe Creative is a branding and web design studio based in Houston that works with clients worldwide. I've been lucky to have clients from all over the US, Canada, and as far as New Zealand! Before I launched my business, I was actually a certified event planner, but made the career change because I wanted more steady hours and to really be able to work from home. I ventured into web and graphic design because I love being creative and helping my clients push their businesses one step closer to their dreams and goals. Because of my career history, I'd say 85-90% of my clients come from the events industry since they know I understand exactly what they do, as well as what it will take to give them a swoon-worthy brand and website.

The goal of the SM Blog's Featured Creative Series is to spread inspiration to everyone with the same passion and craft, where do you get your inspiration from?
Most of my inspiration comes directly from my clients. Each client is different and unique, so by really listening to them and their needs, I'm able to get inspired and exceed their expectations. Aside from that, though, I love Pinterest, Instagram, and Style Me Pretty's wedding blog.

Do you have favorite tools that you use on a daily basis that you cannot live without?
Calendly is my favorite! It's been so helpful in scheduling client consultations, and it really has allowed me to streamline my process. I also love Buffer for scheduling social media posts and Mailchimp for sending out newsletters.

Can you give us a peek of your average workday?
I always check my email first thing every morning, and check in on social media. From there, I'll write and market my blog post. By getting all of my administrative tasks and marketing out of the way in the morning, I find I'm really able to focus on client projects the rest of the day.

Do you have new projects or products you are working on right now that you’d like to share to our readers?
I'm currently working on a new e-course focused on all things blogging. It's designed for bloggers at any stage in their adventure, and it will cover a variety of topics including getting started, marketing, monetizing, and building an audience, plus much more!

Blog With Love’s Mantra is "Do What You Love", what is your personal mantra?
I know it's cliche, but "Never give up." Owning your own business takes a lot of time, patience, and hard work, and we all have days where we feel discouraged and wonder what we're doing. But you have to always push forward and never give up. The rewards in the end always are worth it!

If you were going to give one final advice to our readers, what would it be?
Never be afraid to ask for advice, and always pursue your dreams.
