My 5 Favorite Photo Editing Apps
Like most of us, I always like to make my Instagram photos look fresh and pretty! Almost always, it is just my iPhone with me to take all these photos and with a help of these photo editing apps, they make my photos better!
So to everyone who has asked me before, today I am sharing my five Favorite Photo Editing Apps for IOS. Some may also be available on the Google App Store, but these are mainly IOS Apps I am sharing.
My number 1 favorite and go-to Photo App is PicTapGo! With quick filters such as "Lights On", "Auto Color" and "Crispity", in just a few taps on your phone, you will see amazing results. "Air" and "Brightside" are also two filters I almost always use!
I love, love, love to use PicTapGo most especially with all those restaurant food pictures that we never get the lighting right! With this app, you can easily get just the right lighting and brightness to pop out that delicious food you want to show on your photos. Below photo was taken at Brophy Brother's Restaurant in Ventura beach. See the difference on the before and after photos by using PicTapGo.
This App is fairly new, but has already created a lot of buzz in the Instagram world. This is the best app that you can use to get all the color and brightness pop out of your photos. They have this amazing Instagram feed where they feature 'grammers who uses the hashtag #acolorstory.
The example below is literally just one click of the button and no more additional adjustments were needed. It was a gloomy day in Ventura Beach and so I needed a little bit of light and pop of color to bring life to this shot. See before and after photos below using A Color Story.
If you want more control over your photos and give them a bit more drama, this is the app for you. I've always thought that this app gives you a film style output on the photos that you create. They've got great features by using the VSCO Camera App itself to get more control over focus, exposure and ISO right on the camera.
I wanted to add a bit of drama this photo taken up the Meditation Mount in Ojai so I used VSCO cam to get that dramatic, film effect. See before and after photos below using VSCO Cam App.
Afterlight has lots and lots of Filters, Textures and Frames that you can use to give fun personality to your photos. I use Afterlight when I want to create a dreamy feel and add some texture to my photos - I especially like the light leak and film effects.
Sample photos are shown below of me picking oranges in one of the plantations up in Ojai Valley. You can see how it shows a little bit of fun effect with the use of film texture.
This is my favorite app to create simple collages in a square composition. It is very easy to use and won't take too much of your time to put together if you want to make a square collage.
This was a photo I took up the Meditation Mount in Ojai and in the collage example below, I showed 3 different editing apps used on the same photo.
Go test out these photo editing apps and pick your favorite! Enjoy!
All photos here were taken from my recent weekend getaway to Ojai, CA. If you haven't been there, make sure to go and I'm pretty sure you will keep going back. It's only a quick 1.5 Hour drive from Los Angeles.
